We are grateful to God for the blessings to the Sarvathrika Sahodarya Samithi Abhayakendram. S. S. Samithi started its charitable and social activities on 15th August 1994 by providing free food to the destitute patients in District Hospital, Kollam. By the grace of God this programme we could continue till date without even a single day's interruption. From the humble beginning, to expand our activities in social service sector, we have registered this as a Charitable Trust on 22.03.1996.
Further, to give proper protection to the deranged and destitute patients of the streets from different states of India, we have started a Shelter Home at Mayyanad on 15.08.1998, in the name of S S Samithi Abhayakendram.
Most of our inmates are brought from streets by police or by local authorities in a very dirty and unhygienic condition. Here we give them proper shelter, cloth, food and medicine. Once the Psycho Social cases are cured, we are trying to rehabilitate the inmates with their relatives irrespective of their domicile. Further, senior citizens are provided with geriatric and palliative care till their demise.
We have started developing a Mental Health Hospital and Research Centre at Ottaplamoodu, Kottiyam for the free treatment of poor Psychiatric patients. Our O.P. Clinic is already started functioning. And we need fund to develop it properly. This is possible only through your kind hearted donations. Hence we request you to donate for the same depends upon your wish and capacity. Philanthropists who are willing to donate fund in their departed believed one's memory the room will be constructed with the inscription of their names in front of the rooms.
Be a hero in someone's story. Your donation can be the plot twist they need.
In a world where you can be anything, be a volunteer. Join the movement, make an impact.

Sarvathrika Sahodarya Samithi is a charitable Trust registered under the Public Trust Act 1961 with registration No 90/96. A well known organization of universal brotherhood in Kollam, popularly called S.S.Samithi aims at providing food, shelter, clothing medication and proper care for the sick, poor and destitute irrespective of Caste, Colour, Creed, Region, Language or Races. Abhayakendram (The homely shelter) under the auspicious of Samithi, a home was started in July 1998 at Mayyanad about 15kms from Kollam city for the destitute patients discharged from the Dist: Hospital and other neglected mentally ill, physically handicapped people wandering in the streets.
S.S. Samithi (Sarvathrika Sahodarya Samithi) entered in to the social service for the upliftment of the downtrodden people in 1994. We started our activities at the District Government Hospital, Kollam, where urgent attention was required for the poor patients left out by their family and relatives. We have come across various kinds of people suffering from different kinds of diseases. They were brought from remote areas in the District. In the beginning, our activities were concentrated on providing free food to about 450 poor and destitute patients every day, and also decided to take full care for the people left out in the street and admitted to the hospital
The concept of universal brotherhood and its implied obligations are expressed in the name “Sarvathrika Sahodarya Samithi Abhayakendram” a non-government body organized by a group of lay men for the promotion of humanitarian activates with emphasis on the spiritual development of men.
It is our ultimate motto and sincere effort that not even a single human being should be left out in the street without fulfilling their basic need to live and the requirement of food, clothing, shelter and medicine.
